State Theatre Volunteer Group (Defunct)

Weekends usually; occasionally midweek movies
There are about 10 members on the State Theatre Volunteer list and we welcome more. We don our AAUW teeshirts (or any white shirt/sweater), black slacks/skirts, and the State Theatre vests for our ushering and concessions shift.

Jobs include ushering (includes taking tickets, running the vacuum and carpet sweeper, checking the bathrooms), concessions (usually assigned to popcorn OR drinks OR cash register), and other general duties as assigned.

An email goes out the beginning of the week asking who is available for the upcoming weekend.  Some members sign themselves up; others ask me to sign them up.  There is always a manager on site during your shift.  You may go to the State or Bijou before your shift or stay after your shift to watch the movie.  Also, you can help yourself to popcorn and pop (other concessions items must be purchased.  And no eating when you are behind the counter waiting on patrons, please).  We have the best patrons in town, so it’s always fun.
